The short version
The only thing we set without asking is a strictly necessary security check on our forms. Beyond that, we set no cookies at all unless you agree to analytics. If you say no, or say nothing, or your browser sends a Do Not Track style privacy signal, the site works exactly the same and stores nothing beyond that one security check.
What we use, and when
Before you choose anything, one thing runs regardless of your choice: Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form submission is coming from a person and not a bot. It is a security control, not analytics or advertising, so it is treated as strictly necessary and is not gated behind your cookie choice, in line with Cloudflare's own Turnstile privacy policy. It may set a short-lived cookie of its own in order to do that check.
Beyond that: nothing. No analytics scripts load and no analytics cookies are set until you press Accept.
Your choice itself is saved in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so that we do not have to set a cookie in order to remember that you did not want cookies. It never leaves your device.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 sets the following:

We have turned off Google Signals, so Google Analytics is not linked to advertising profiles, and we have set data retention to 14 months rather than Google's longer default. We do not run any advertising pixel on this site.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer at any time. Withdrawing is one click, exactly like giving consent was.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. The site will keep working.
Privacy signals
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal and load no analytics. You do not need to do anything else.
